Call for Research Papers!
The WMEA research chair announces a call for papers for the Wisconsin State Music Conference, October 29-31, 2008. If you have been working on a project, please submit it for consideration to share during the conference. The guidelines have changed slightly this year in efforts to include more undergraduate research projects and action research in the presentation. Please share this call with anyone in music education or related areas who may have material that would benefit the music education practice.
A poster session for all accepting completed and in-progress research of any type (titles and authors will be listed in the conference
program). Submitted material may be no more than 30 pages in length. Full theses cannot be archived and are therefore not able to be accepted. A portion of a thesis may be submitted. Undergraduate research projects are encouraged. Authors must submit following the guidelines for electronic submission as follows:
1. An email with the subject heading "WMEA Submission" and content indicating a) if the research is in progress or complete, and b) the author's name, institutional affiliation, address, phone number and preferred email address.
2. A one-page abstract as an attachment (including the title of the project) that does not identify the author in any way. The attachment is to be in Word format only, with the author's last name as the name of the file (example: "Smith.doc").
All submissions must be received by Friday, October 10, 2008 to Sheila Feay-Shaw at feayshaw@uwm.edu. Submissions will be blind reviewed and notification will be sent electronically by Friday, October 17, 2008. If you have questions about a submission, contact Dr. Feay-Shaw at the email above or 414-229-5163.
